Are you trusting in the synchronicities that are all around you?
Monthly Love Letter for May 2024
Have you been paying attention to all of the ways the universe is showing you it has your back?
As I soaked up an intense final week in Winnipeg earlier this month before heading to the west coast, I started to notice a new season emerging… the seeds I planted quite some time ago were beginning to grow with invitations, collaborations, and recognition showing up even beyond the places where I intentionally was intending to see them blossom.
It reminded me that there is so much growth that is had once we surrender to mother nature doing her thing… scattering the seeds and waiting for them to grow in unexpected places that perhaps the eye cannot always see.
It forced me to notice on a larger scale just how much this thread of inviting myself to show up imperfectly has been the power behind me spinning an even greater web, reaching people I didn’t even know possible… Almost as though this web has become an eco-system for inviting people to look more closely at the ways that they too are getting caught up in the need to perform, or impress, or suppress, or ignore… inviting them to pay greater attention to the magic already happening around them and the signs that are showing up as those reminders.
May was filled with so many beautiful and real conversations between people that I truly believe the universe brought into my world in the most divine timing. People who have been waiting to give themselves the permission to feel more, to work less and do less and rest more, to pay attention to the moments that bring them joy, to act from a place of self-love and compassion, to say yes to experiencing something uncomfortable and new without reward. What are you waiting for?
Making these synchronicity connections have felt much like the angel numbers we see when we glance down quickly at our phones… or the words that begin to come up in conversations… or the times we dream about a specific thing and it happens the next day.
The term "synchronicity" was introduced by Swiss psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and psychologist Carl Jung in the early 20th century. It describes the occurrence of events that are meaningfully related but not causally connected.
For example, if you were thinking about an old friend and then received an unexpected call from them, or you have a conversation about something and then begin seeing a related word or symbol repeatedly.
The events aren't linked by cause and effect but are connected by their significance to you and the meaning you assign to them, as nothing in the world holds meaning until we give it meaning.
Jung used this concept to suggest that there is an underlying order in the universe, indicating a deeper connection between our thoughts and the events we experience. He believed these meaningful coincidences provided evidence for the existence of the collective unconscious, a part of the unconscious mind shared among beings, which influences our experiences and perceptions in profound ways.
Through synchronicity, Jung aimed to show that our reality is not purely governed by physical laws and random chance, but also by a deeper, interconnected structure where meaningful connections and patterns emerge in our lives.
For me, the meaning I give to these synchronicities has become an invitation to believe I am on the right path. The continued signs invite me to trust that there will be continuous experiences, people, and opportunities specifically designed and presented for me or whomever they appear to.
Some of the most exciting synchronicities I have noticed over the past few weeks were:
☁️ On the last day before I left Winnipeg, I was chatting to an amazing social media marketer at the co-working space I joined who was enamored with the message of an upcoming talk I was to give on Disrupting Perfectionism by Finding Your Own Permission Slips.
With her belief in my message we discovered an opportunity where we could mutually support each other with the work we do. She had no idea that over the past few weeks leading up to this conversation that I was beginning to think that it may be time for me to invest in greater visibility for my business and messages.
☁️ Upon mapping out the location of the house I was staying at in Victoria I realized it too was across the street from a castle, just like the house I will stay at in Toronto later this summer.
Why this is so cool is that one of my spiritual mentors delivered a message to me during a reading a few years ago that my late grandmother and great grandmother want me to go to the castles. Never did I think I would find them in these places.
☁️ I gave a friend a pack of tarot cards, but they were hesitant to use them. A few days later, they had a dream that matched real-life events, making them curious about the cards. The message they received from the cards definitely hit home.
This series of events led me to become curious too about a book that had been sitting on the night stand of the house I was staying at. I opened the book to reveal a message that was woven with the words and themes of her dream. But beyond that it led me to a moment of greater curiosity which sparked a moment of realization that it is about damn time I publish my first solo book.
☁️ All in the same week I discovered a book at a second-hand book store so niche to my dad’s professional industry, published in the year he was born.
☁️ I took a video call with a new business collaborator of mine and we connected the dots that the building I am staying in in Vancouver is the exact building she lived in for many many years before relocating just weeks ago to Montreal—she was born in an entirely different country and me in a different city.

Imagine if I hadn’t taken the time to notice these threads or connect these dots. Sure life would still be dreamy, but there really is an extra level of belief when we pay attention more intentionally. I truly believe that the universe has mysterious ways of orchestrating what is meant for us. Others may argue that these things are entirely meaningless but if we get to decide the meaning we give to things then I will always remain open to receiving things with deeper meaning.

🕳️The permission to know that everything is working out for your greatest good.
