We don’t have to know exactly what we’re doing at every moment.
Monthly Love Letter for May 2025 + the No.7 Thing I’m Remembering Not to Forget
A friend and I were catching up mid last month. She took me around her space for a virtual showing of the beautiful exhibition she had created in collaboration with other talents humans. It was the same space where I brought my very first Permission to Celebrate Exhibition to live for Toronto Design Festival earlier this year.
As we chatted about what’s been going on in our work, our upcoming travel plans, and the planting of seeds for our future dreams, she asked me the question, “What is it that you’re focusing on right now?”, and my answer was, “Honestly, I don’t know”. I could have made something up, or listed all of the little pots I have my hands in at the minute… because I DO have stuff going on… but honestly, I just didn’t fully know what to answer because the focus has felt unclear.
You see, there are moments where we may have a singular clear goal, and an outline of the smaller little milestones that allow up to achieve or realize said goal. But there are other times where we may have different things going on… little pieces that make up the bigger pictures… and perhaps there is also a laundry list of things we hope to create or experience or bring into our reality but we’re just not ready for them yet.
It’s in these moments that I think back to my younger self who was taught that by our 30s we should have it all figured out. And beyond this remembering of knowing that we’re all just making it up, it feels important to acknowledge separately that we also don’t have to know exactly what we’re meant to be doing at every given moment.
I shared with her this affirmation I have posted in my room, “I can’t miss anything that’s for me.” It resonated with her and I felt it bring her the same comfort it brings me in those moments where the pressure to be in a different place feels overwhelming.
Not long after our call she sent me a meme of a fellow millennial asking the other internet girls in their 30s what is it we’re meant to be doing right now… It really made me giggle and it felt validating to remember that so many of us are aware that we really are just making it all up. And for us folks in our 30s whom may not have chosen the most traditional path of having kids or getting married or climbing the career ladder or even having the traditional things turn out differently than we intended, it can still feel comforting to not have a defined path in front of us.
The day after this chat, I visited a spiritual mentor of mine who reflected these notions back to me in a way that brought me even more comfort energetically to let go of the hyper vigilance of things not working out in the way I had wanted. Even though I KNOW that there truly is nothing we can control and what it is we wanted isn’t always what we need most.
Before our session I had already been feeling this strong awareness of how I’ve already outgrown some of things that are currently happening in my work and life and how the universe has also been delivering those invitations for me to reevaluate and discern what will actually be more in alignment for me and my business. And truly having this reflected back to me in this moment came at a time I really needed it.
She told me that there are so many shifts happening around us and within us that we’re not meant to logically or consciously be in a place in this moment where we can think our way out of a current scenario or think our way into speeding things up. Instead, we get to get into our bodies and trust. Hmmm… sounds familiar doesn’t it. We’re not meant to know exactly what we’re meant to do right now.

For now, I’ll be unplugging and soaking up the Cyprus sun as the rest falls into place.
Lots of love,
💕Lauren
What I take away from this is how important the Mind-Body-Heart-Intuition Connection is that I’ve discovered and been able to strengthen in hypnosis is… yes as a daily practice, but also as a foundation that I get to trust in during the moments where I do really need it most.
Of all of the things I don’t have figured out in this moment, I feel grateful that I’ve had this experience to take what I’ve learned in traditional hypnosis training to expand it into an even more holistic practice that goes beyond the mind… that speaks to the heart, that tunes into the intuition, and considers the body as the wise one that it is.
There is no thinking my way out of this moment, but what I can do is listen to my body… and surround myself with the people who are real enough to also say out loud that we don’t have to have it all figured out all of the time.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by it all… confused… foggy… and could use some support to come into your body and let go of the worrying, I invite you to explore Mind-Body-Heart-Intuition Connection with me through hypnosis.

I love that affirmation so much! “I can’t miss anything that’s for me.” I think I need to add a new sticky note when I get home! It really does lift a weight on the shoulders to remember this :)
